The Y.O.U. Center Ambassador Program is part of AASN's Pathways to Prevention initiative. We're recruiting students at colleges across Arkansas to become trusted, trained points of access for emergency contraception (EC), Opill, and other health resources, right where students already live and learn.
No lectures. No stigma. Just real support from someone who gets it, because they're a student too.
-
As an Ambassador, you'll:
Distribute free EC, Opill, and other supplies to students on your campus
Share accurate, judgment-free info about reproductive health
Point students toward additional resources when they need more support
Help make sure your peers never have to choose between access and privacy
You're not expected to be a medical expert. You'll get full training before you start, and staff support the whole way through.
-
Arkansas has some of the most restrictive reproductive healthcare laws in the country. For a lot of students, especially those without a car, without insurance, or without a pharmacy nearby, getting emergency contraception when they need it isn't always simple.
You can change that. One dorm room, one campus, one conversation at a time.
-
What we're looking for
You don't need to be pre-med or a policy expert, just someone who:
Cares about your campus community
Can keep things confidential (this one's non-negotiable)
Has a few hours a month to give
Wants to be a resource, not a lecture
RAs, student org leaders, and just genuinely caring students are all welcome to apply.
-
Before you're out there helping your campus, we'll make sure you're set up for success. Training covers everything from EC and Opill basics to confidentiality, harm reduction, and how to have these conversations with zero awkwardness (okay, minimal awkwardness).
